From Saturday's Guardian:
Deepgate is a rambling, gothic city, suspended by chains over a bottomless abyss, entire districts at the mercy of gravity and the uneven stresses in its structure - one of the most striking images in modern fantasy fiction.
And from www.thebookbag.co.uk:
Goddess Ayen furious at the human wickedness shut down the gates of heaven and the souls of the dead are now forever roaming the bloody corridors of Hell. Ayen's son Ulcis rebelled and was cast down from the sky and now he dwells in the abyss gathering an army of souls and preparing to reclaim heaven for the faithful. Those inhabit Deepgate, a city suspended on chains over the abyss. All the dead of Deepgate are given to Ulcis.

Il Raccoglitore D'anime
The Italian version of Scar Night came out in April. I had hoped to wait until the copies arrived before I posted this, so I could quote some, and then pretend to understand it. But the post has been slow.

There is something so utterly cool about having a book out called "Il Raccoglitore D'anime." Many, many thanks to Laura Prandino for her hard work translating the text, and to the publishers, Longanesi, who have released it under their Nord imprint.
Salute!

Writing vs Photography
I turn my back for a moment (ok, a year) only to discover that one of the photos I took while I was a stuggling photographer is popping up all over the web. This was a wee bit annoying at first because the image had been used without permission, but we sorted out the copyright issues. Hurrah.
Anyhoo, here's the all new altered version with a cunning blog-plugging ploy.

I don't mind if this version appears all over the place. :)
Pimping? Oh yes. Come on, I have a mortage to pay.
