Couple of New Reviews

From Saturday's Guardian:

Deepgate is a rambling, gothic city, suspended by chains over a bottomless abyss, entire districts at the mercy of gravity and the uneven stresses in its structure - one of the most striking images in modern fantasy fiction.

And from www.thebookbag.co.uk:

Goddess Ayen furious at the human wickedness shut down the gates of heaven and the souls of the dead are now forever roaming the bloody corridors of Hell. Ayen's son Ulcis rebelled and was cast down from the sky and now he dwells in the abyss gathering an army of souls and preparing to reclaim heaven for the faithful. Those inhabit Deepgate, a city suspended on chains over the abyss. All the dead of Deepgate are given to Ulcis.

I stumbled upon your book and blog while googling for "klingsor" and "hitler"... and am left wondering how come I never heard of Scar Night, which seems to be a book right up my alley. Anyway, I will most certainly look for it back here in India and also look forward to reading Nova Scotia!!!

My blog turned up during a search for "hitler"?

That's a bit disturbing.

u know cyber space is much more mixed up than we care to admit. You just don't where and to whom you may be hyperlinked... which again isn't too far out coz that's also how it is... was... in our prototype 'perfect world'--AS IT IS IN HEAVEN SO ON EARTH (okay a bit twisted perhaps!)...

Even our genes go back and connect to some primitive parents, somewhere we are told in Africa. We are almost suspended on a rainbow where violet and red are the extremes of good and evil. And we are all differnt colours, different shades. The Western-Christian worldview however likes to separate, categorise, classify, put in a box our experiences and consign them to the nearest and latest heaven or hell. Not knowing that there are no absolutes in here. Heaven and hell are relative and almost always antonymically defined. So by definition one cannot exist without the other.

We all have within us these fluctuating rainbows that turn us into functional schizophrenics, with multiple heads looking in different directions and judging from different sides. Getting to know small and often inconsequential details but never quite grasping the bigger picture.

The key is to change your SELF from a refracting medium to one that lets white light remain white... like it was meant to be... Unified... beyond duality, beyond illusory separations... beyond us and them and the other.

This by the way is not a defence of Hitler!
